Hey Chicklet! Love the view of your world. Hey in the picture of your chickens, what kind of hen is the one to the left of the silver spangled hamburg rooster? I have two just like her, and don't know what they are. Then I have one that is more black but is penciled just like that? I have three hens setting right now! Think I'll put them all in the barn to grow because when I let them run loose it never fails, they disappear. Hey you need to oil n lube that poor sickle mower. lol That or have you seen the CUTE CROWS people make with the sharp points off the sickle? They take a shovel head and turn it upside down, then weld a sickle point to it with the point facing the ground like a beak. Look JUST like a crow painted black! lol... Oh wait, then they took the prongs off a rake... you know... a rake you do the hayfields and weld that for feet. That way you can stick em in the ground. Bet your hubby wouldn't miss a beak off his sickle mower. lololol Then again, he's a farmer, maybe he WOULD!
Hi Paula, I just found you. I'm always looking for other "chicken" gals. I love your flock. I'm glad that Sarge is feeling better. I bought my first 4 chicks last spring. 2 Production Reds-Lucy and Ethel and 2 Black Australots- Oprah and Aretha. I lost Lucy in Oct. to a Bobcat and Oprah in March to a raccoon. I live in town, but there is a pasture behind my house. My coop is predator proof, but not the whole run. Also, Lucy was taken while I was letting the free range in our yard. We were even outside! I just got 6 new chicks. They were labeled Aracaunas at the feed store. Blessings, Lorilee
I love your spring pictures. You are about 30 days ahead of us. The violets are so sweet and I know we will be seeing them soon. I saw the magnolias are blooming in some people's yards. They smell heavenly. My favorite shots are the sheep from behind and Sarge likewise. There's just something about fannies that turn me on......:)
Now I KNEW there would be at least one picture of chicken-bums! No kidding-your pictures are really good! It's so nice to see apple blossoms(I think that's what that was), and dirt being worked. We sre still trying to creep up to 50 degrees...but it is getting greener! Give Sarge a big chicken hug for me! Love, Debra

What beautiful spring pictures! It's hard to believe that Smokey had a 'snowy' nose just over a week ago! Aren't the dogwoods gorgeous now??
