My creative space

Step into my creative space,
where I work with my hands and heart....

My fabric stash is always calling out, "make something special with me!"

I like to keep tools ready for any project.... sometimes I'll just doodle out an idea, so pencils with good erasers are a must!

My Christmas present... a mini-iron! *squeal*

My latest Ebay finds, waiting to be cut... *squeal*squeal*

My trusty machines sit quietly now, but soon they will be humming along one stitch at a time...

The computer where my embroidery software and designs are kept....
(I use a different computer to blog and check emails.)
I have so much fun digitizing and creating new embroideries- I can spend hours in front of this computer on a rainy day if I let myself!

No creative space would be complete without a little music... a girl's gotta have some tunes to tap her toe with every now and then...

After a long hiatus, I will be stocking my ETSY shop with some new things pretty soon ..... this apron bonnett is ready to go in and some others will follow, along with maybe even a doll or two.

Have a great weekend, everybody!

  6. I LOVE your craft room!!! I wanted to transform my son's room into a craft room but now he's joined the Army and all his "stuff" will be here for another 4 yrs:( I suppose some of it could go to the attic.....LOL!!!!!! Happy crafting:)

  7. What a wonderful space to create in!! I think I would be more creative if I actually had a dedicated spot. I have to drag things out and then put them up and drag them out and put them up....well, it just puts a damper on the creativity. I can't wait to see what all you put in your shop. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.♥

  10. What a nice and neat workspace you have. You've inspired me to set aside some time next week to get mine organized so that I can work more comfortably there. I should do a before and after picture to further inspire me. We'll see on that one! hahaha

  12. I love your creative space. My creative space is undergoing a change. I have to clean up my office so that I can buy a day bed for my son and DIL to sleep on when they come to visit. When I get it cleaned up I will have to post some pictures. You are very brave!

  13. Wow, love your workspace. I wish I could keep mine neat! I have looked for an apron/bonnet pattern. I remember my Mom making one.

  14. Darlin', you put me to shame.
I am definitely just a putterer. Love the bonnet. Make one out of gingham, put it up for sale and I will purchase it. I've been wanting one for some time. Maybe now is the time. Course, I have also been wanting one of those vintage looking child's dresses made out of that flimsy material like they used to use. Would look sweet hanging from a peg board....
PS My craft room is buried in misc. 'c**p' as I wait for spring. Happens every year. All things end up there....Hope I never do! LOL

  15. I love your space. It's looks so much more neat and tidy than mine! Cute cute apron. I'm working on some new things for my etsy shop also. Things that have been in my mind for a year or so and I've finally started them. Going to pop over to your shop right now...

  17. I was on an apron frenzy for Christmas, but I don't know if anyone who got one was as excited as I was in making them. I guess that should just be the joy of the giver, than.
I like yours. Very cute. I made one retro/smock style, but it took so many yards of bias tape, it was a bit crazy. I need to see if I can buy it by the yard somewhere instead of in the little expensive, too small packages.

  20. Paula, thank you for sharing your crafting area with us. Looks like you have everything neat and orderly. I hope you have better luck with your mini-iron than I did. I am such a clutz! I was pressing over the seams on some hand applique. Before I even though about it. I stuck my index finger on the bar to press down more. Hmm, yes, that bar gets hot. I am embarrassed to admit this, but I have done this twice. I am now afraid to use it. LOL Your apron is darling. I hope you get lots of time to play in your craft room the rest of the winter. 24. When it comes to sewing, I don't have a creative bone anywhere in my body! I sure wish I did! I can picture you creating there in your space and a nice space it is! I'll be checking out your Etsy store from time to time. I did't realize you had one!

    Have a great day, Paula!

  25. Hey Paula, thanks for the comment on the header. My silkie hen got attacked by a dog and had her wing chewed up and bloody. We cleaned her up and moved the two of them to a new pen where they'll be safer and drier (they got a bit wet when it rained, even covered up). She's well on the mend and doing better, though. New feathers are starting to grow back. I have a blue pair, too.
