Photo from my very first post back in 2008
I've made my usual New Year's resolutions again....
You know the ones... the "taking better care of myself and losing some pounds" one, the "less TV/ more reading" one, etc....
Happily, I think I've found the secret to making the scales see things my way-
I've also decided that in the coming year I plan on trying to blog a little more frequently, and although I will still be writing about the critters and the other farmy goings-on around here, I'm also going to start sharing with you some of the things coming out of my sewing room. This was actually my intention when I started this blog three years ago... (Three? WOW!).... to share my creations whether they were good or bad; as some of you know certain projects turn out just great, while others seem to be possessed with an evil force intent on destroying your sanity. I have so much I want to accomplish this year, and some of my biggest goals are: I want to make a quilt, I want to go through all my hundreds of patterns and organize them by putting the ones I want to make the most at the top of the list, and.... I want to re-open my poor little neglected ETSY Shop for business once again.
Am I being unrealistic? I don't think so...
Will I feel overwhelmed? I'm sure of it.
However, I have several crafty long-time blog friends along a couple of new friends I've met recently that post about the projects they are working on, and seeing other people's creativity at work has inspired me to retreat into my sewing room and get busy.
I hope you'll keep dropping by in 2011 to see what's going on around here!
Happy New Year Paula! Love the morning sunrise pic it looks beautiful. Now as for the posting of the scales...you are giving me ideas! Sad the only thing I have to shoot at mine with is a water gun. Can't wait to see your new projects. Take Care :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New beginnings and draggin' some old one into your future with you. Bloggin' about your farm has been a joy reading about. Even with all its ups and downs, I still want one. But this city gal for now will sit back with my feet up and read about yours and lovin' every minute. Oh... I always loved picture books when I was a child... so more picture please! giggle.
ReplyDeleteI did that to my scales long time ago, I found it played to many games with me and was cheating so I ended its digital life. You will be happier when you do the same.
And you have many talents along with your knowledge of the farm, quilting and doll making as well? ... I want to see more. Its awesome to get back into working with your hands. My first craft love is sewing but needed to get away from that and pick up some old neglected crafts. I have never had a project that each item I was working on had something go wrong, its always that way for everyone. Its just the way things go. I pray your etsy shop when you get it up and running will zoom!
Look forward to reading and seeing more.
GOD bless you, your family and your farm this coming year.
Morning! That sunrise is beautiful! I've had fleeting thoughts about what I want out of 2011 but havent' really set any real goals. I know I definitly need to start taking better care of myself.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing your sewing creations!!
Blessings

It always inspires me to try and make my space more orgznized and comfortable so I want to go in there and create. I can't wait to see what new things you will talking about this year! Yeah, for losing some lbs. That's never a bad thing! Love to little Lily!

I have made a few resolutions for the new year. They say start off with one or two and then you won't be overwhelmed when you do not make it.
Have a great day.

Hi Paula, I just recently found your blog and I am so looking forward to all your posts. I am sure you will be overwhelmed but what fun would it be not to feel streched with your goals:) I always look at it and feel good if I’ve made progress toward my goald so I don’t beat myself up if I fall short. I am sure you will accomplish most of these wonderful goals this year ;)
ReplyDeleteWell, i for one will be very happy to see more of you at the blog and in your shop! :)I too have decided i need to blog more and be more productive in my own little shop. So, let's get going! Lots of Love to You and Yours!
ReplyDeleteSewing projects galore, are staring me in the face. I'm so jealous cause you have a 'sewing Room'. Just what is that? I'm afraid I have to drag out the old portable and tie up my dining room for a while. I guess that's why there are 'so many projects.' LOL I look forward to seeing the projects you come up with. Stitch away, my friend. Maybe I can just send you some of my stuff. LOL,...kidding, I'd never do that to you.
