Friday Farm Funny: I see London, I see France.....


Around here we try to recycle things as much as possible, and that includes worn-out clothing that has reached the unwearable stage. I have a little container in the laundry room that we call the "rag box" where all the ragged socks, t shirts- and yes, undies- are washed and placed in to be used for everything from dusting ceiling fans and waxing cars to cleaning up greasy hands and dirty shoes.
This garment was used for the messy task of cleaning up our paintbrushes (and our hands) while we were staining the house, but I forgot to throw it away and didn't realize it was still hanging around until I went looking for my scrub brush.
Now, I'm not going to tell you who these belonged to, but I will say this much- I would love to think I owned a pair of undies that could be used to clean a paintbrush and the elastic still hold up this good on them.
But I don't.
And that's all I'm gonna say.

    absolutely the truth - ladies' garments are just not made as well are they? I find socks to be useful for dusting/scrubbing (on the occasion I feel moved to do such things!) -thanks for the smile!

    lol...I think we all have a rag box full of old socks and underwear..but you are right...none of my underwear ever make it in there either..lol

    I rag box it as well and come to think of it, except for occasional odd sock, none of mine make it in there either.

    My clothes are usually too raggedy for the rag box! My socks always have holes in them (I wear socks all the time without shoes...!)LOL

    I'll never forget the time I used an old pair of John's undies to put furniture polish on the piano.

    SOMEHOW....he wore that same pair and asked why they smelled like lemon?????? When I explained, I asked him if he had been slipping and sliding in his chair all day!

    Talk about 'airing your dirty laundry!'

    We used to have a rag bag.... that was until sweet hubby started being the one making the determination of what was a rag and what wasn't.

    Now, I buy those little microfiber rags at Costco in bulk.
    No more mistakes around here :)

    I use all old socks for paint and stain and M's briefs do come in handy but my undies? They just don't hold up under duress. They would make a good tent though....

    With some folks at my house I have to "sneak" their stuff into the "rag bag" that I also keep in our laundry room...I guess we all like to save a good piece of cloth.
