As the sun sets on another year, we get ready to welcome in the new......
Thanks to the new lights that were put in a few weeks ago by Hubby and his brother (who just happens to be a great electrician), it looks like a festive party might be taking place in the sheep barn.
In reality, once the sheep come inside the barn for the night
and fill their bellies at the feed troughs, they will probably pass out until morning.
No big celebration for the chickens either,
who will have been asleep for nearly 6 hours by the time midnight rolls around.
There probably won't be much of a party inside the house....
just Hubby and I sipping coffee and sharing a box of these.
(Which for me beats being at Times Square on New Year's Eve any day.)
After stuffing ourselves with the worlds' best doughnuts,
me, Hubby, and Lily will snuggle by the fire and watch the festivities on TV.
Actually, we will probably start out watching a football game
then fall asleep halfway through the second quarter.
*Sigh*
We're such party animals around here...
So long, 2011.....
And hello, 2012!
Happy New Year, everyone!
Okay, you got me with the box of donuts.....have not had any of those for YEARS! but I think that will all change today. My mouth is drooling, what a way to welcome in the New Year.
ReplyDeleteIt will be just hubby and I, the parrots go to sleep at 7. But we have a new member and she is a part hound so she will be staying up with us. Hum...wonder if I could treat her to a bite of doughnut.
I hope Hubby is doing good, thinking of you all and give a kiss to Miss Lily from me and my Shelby says hello!
Happy NEW YEAR to your farm and family.
Krispy Kreme are just too darn sweet for me. Now, a Winchell's is another story.
ReplyDeleteNo partiers around here, either.
We'll catch the New Year's before you and send it on with blessings to y'all.
Haha, sounds about like our plan for ringin' in the New Year! (except without the sheep and chickens, and unfortunately, we'll be watching World Junior Hockey instead of football... :P)
ReplyDeleteAll the best in the coming year!
Sweet animal family and great pictures!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
your post made me think of the movie 'barnyard' where the animals woop and holler up a storm in the barn each night! too funny!
ReplyDeletehappy new year, dear paula! mine will be a quiet one too!
Congratulations on lights in the barn.
ReplyDeleteI will probably be asleep by 8 tonight, maybe I can find New Years Celebration in London ....... it will be midnight somewhere. Australia and New Zealand already had their celebrations.
Happy New Year to you and your family. Our New Year celebration will be much like yours. Hugs to Lily.
ReplyDeleteAwesome photos of your farm and animals. I hope you have a very happy New Year. I enjoy blogging with you very much.
ReplyDeleteNo party animals at our farm either Paula, we will all be to stuffed to move!

I think the box of doughnuts beats Times Square any day! Enjoy your New Years!
ReplyDeleteAwwww-love the photos...I love YOU, Paula. You've been such a loyal and dear friend to me now-for 3 years! So glad we found each other!
ReplyDeleteBeen praying for your hubby. Have a lovely and wonderful night, and a healthy, safe and blessed New Year!

No way would I want to by in Times Square tonight. I'm with the critters---peace and quiet. Their only downer is they don't get donuts!!! Happy New Year, Paula!
ReplyDeleteLove your pictures. Your lighted stable almost has a Christmasy look to it...and it was very clean. I much prefer your New Year's Eve festivities than Times Square. wishing you and yours a very Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteFun post and pictures, Paula! I love your new lights!!! Sounds like you are going to enjoy my favorite kind of evening. We will be doing very similar activities only with homemade pizza and old episodes of The Closer on dvd.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and yours. I wish you a very blessed 2012.
Love the way you party at the Fraker Farm...Happy New Year !!
ReplyDeleteSHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!! Ya'll have krispie kreme near you? That's what I call a party right there.
ReplyDeletePaula, your friendship has meant so much to me this past year. Here's hoping you have a wonderful 2012 with good health and happiness.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte
I just love the photo of the lights in the sheep barn. Looks so peaceful, warm and inviting. I can't wait to get to my little farm full time so I can raise sheep. Those bantams look soooo soft!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! No party animals at my hous either! :-)
ReplyDeleteThe lights in the sheep barn remind me of something my brother in law once told me. "Never work for a man who has lights in his barn." lol!
ReplyDeleteNo party animals here either. Wishing you and yours a wonderful 2012!
Hey Miss Paula :) Your New Year's Eve sounds as exciting as ours was. The teens went to friends so that left the little munchkin home alone with mom & dad. Dad was asleep before 11:00 so I stayed up to watch the ball drop with him and at 12:01 sent him off to bed. Our biggest thrill of the night was playing Mario Kart! lol
ReplyDeleteLove looking at your barnyard pictures they are always amazing. Take Care :)
Wonderful photos. Wishing you a wonderful New Year ahead. blessings,Kathleen
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm officially green with envy over your lights...how nice! May the worst of 2012 be from the best of 2011; Happy New Year from Thistle Cove Farm.
ReplyDeleteSo cool to have lights for the sheep!
ReplyDeleteI love how you 'party'.....sound about like our speed.
Except my hubby had to work new years day...so we had to be a bit quiet giving each other the high fives and welcoming the new year.
Just so's ya know... I think your awesome and I hope that 2012 is a year filled with happiness, health and blessings for you and your hubs.
Mmmmm, donuts! We settled for the good ol' Velveeta with salsa dip and lights out by 10pm. What is Velveeta anyway and why is it so good?!

Your new years eve sounded like ours except for the donuts. I fell asleep reading and listening to games.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of all of your party animals.
Our furbaby was like that when hubs was in hospital for 2 days also.
Hope you have a blessed 2012!!!
Glad to hear that hubby is doing better and on the way to good health.
hugs

Hi, Paula...I'm bj from Sweet Nothings and am over from the Run Around Ranch.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to introduce myself...
I am a great-grandmother, love blogging and love taking photos.....of food. Isn't that a hoot. Didn't have a clue I even liked cameras, much less taking photos so much until I started my blog.
Come by sometime when you can....
xo bj
It's nearly midnight and I want doughnuts!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the pictures, Paula. Hope your husband is beginning to feel better.
Give Lily a hug.
Hello Paula, Happy New Years to you and your lovely animals!
ReplyDeleteWe weren't party animals either, we were sound asleep at 11:15 PM only to be awaken at midnight by the dogs because of the firesworks!
I love the light in the sheep house! And I can smell those donuts from here!
Hugs, Ann
It looks like your house was about as exciting as ours was on new year's eve. Even though we're in Central Time Zone, we opted to watch the Big Apple fall and declare it a HAPPY NEW YEAR at 11 o'clock our time, 'cause we were dragging. It would've been nice to have toasted with a Krispy Kreme donut, but since they aren't to be found here in Hicksville, USA, I made do with OJ.
ReplyDeleteI just read about your hubby's surgery. I'll say a prayer for a speedy recovery for him!
That sky is awesome! We actually went somewhere to celebrate New Year's Eve this year. We went to by brother and sister-in-laws house and celebrated with family and friends.I haven't had a Krispy Kreme donut in ages! They ARE wonderful. Perfect compliment to coffee!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Lorilee
A perfect New Years Eve! Thanks for reminding us all that it is the simple things to be thankful for.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sweet birthday wishes! I know I will love Ancestry, by the way, but I'm a little worried about the HOURS and HOURS I will be on there! :-) It's pretty addictive!
ReplyDeleteNow my mouth is watering, Paula - Shame on you for that tease of Krispy Kremes! My favorite! Hope you enjoyed your New Years!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to thank you for your prayers for Kristen's surgery, too. She went home today! Doing well physically, will have speech therapy, and we're still waiting on the path report. God is good all the time!
Dang, if I'm not late for the party again!!! I bet those wonderful doughnuts are long gone, huh???
ReplyDeleteFigures...I haven't had a doughnut in years. Heeheehhee!
Hope your havein' a spectacular New Year sweetie.
God bless ya and enjoy the day! :o)
All your creatures are wonderful. I would love more creatures but for now I like to read about other bloggers furry wooly feathered friends. I want to follow your blog but there is no follow button showing. I will try again Friday. Blessings!
