Haha, looks like you're comparing store-bought eggs to farm eggs! We started buying from a friend last year and I still can't get over how much bigger the eggs are that I get from her!!
I love everyone's comments on this so far! Just to clarify~ these eggs are from two different Rhode Island Red hens~ same size and everything... the egg on the left is half the size of a "normal" egg and the one on the right is so big it won't fit into a regular egg carton! The funny thing is they were both laid on the same day. I found them the next morning and thought, "Hmmmm..."
Thanks for explaining...I had no clue, Paula! Wow...what a difference! That one on the right must be a whopper to not fit in an egg carton! Are they both equally as good? :)
That's a big Difference.. I was about to say that I bet the small one was from a Bannie Hen..My Mom used to have those.. Then I read your comment..That's amazing..Blessings
Love the eggs. It is so much fun gathering home hatched eggs, isn't it? We never know what the variety of size & colors will be.Every day is like an Easter egg hunt!
wow....that is something else!! Come on over and say hi...I have not been out visiting for a very long time!! I am trying to get back into the swing of things.
What a difference!
ReplyDeleteHope you and Lily have a wonderful day, Paula!

Is there a big difference in the size of the hens?
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be great.. selling a mixed batch of eggs like that.
You could have large eggs and small eggs all in one carton :)
Hope today is a wonderful day for you!
Smiles :)

ReplyDeleteDo the hens compare their eggs-have contests? Some of your gals sure have the personality to compete....
