Moving into Hibernation Mode

Brrr~ yep, it's been a crunchy walk to the barn the past few mornings...

Here we are, more than halfway through November!
Time is flying by these days....
Hubby is off from work this week so we are planning on getting some things done around here...
The barns need to be cleaned out and hopefully we will be getting the
Christmas decorations up this weekend.

We will be getting together with family on Thursday,
but the rest of the weekend we will stay snug and cozy at home;
Hubby in his woodworking shop and me in my sewing room.
No Black Friday shopping for this gal... I try very hard to stay out of the crowds
instead of putting myself in the middle of it all.

I'm very thankful for so many things~ good friends being one of them.
This includes my precious online friends...
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
Be back next week....

  2. That sounds like a my kind of weekend. I want to get out the Christmas decor also. I am not going to do as much as I did last year. Our kids with their families will only be here for soup supper on the 24th and then going to the other grandma's house for Christmas Day.
    Happy Thanksgiving to you.
    Hugs

  3. Happy Thanksgiving my dear friend! I truly don't know what I would have done sometimes without your kind words, and genuine love-what a gift Internet has been for me! I have to tell you-I laughed out loud when I saw your pictures on your header(lovely!) of the chicken pecking the camera! Is that what she was doing? And that gorgeous one of the sun's rays-oh my....Have a wonderful and blessed time with family, Paula. And hug the critters for me!

  4. Now that I'm the "old" woman of the family, the Thanksgiving meal will be here, for those who can come. NO black Friday shopping for me either!

I'm also thankful for the privilege of knowing you, Paula.

    Blessings on you and hubby!

  5. I can find so many things to be thankful for. I will be spending this Thanksgiving at work. Hospitals never take a holiday and for that I'm thankful. Family and friends keep us grounded. No black Friday for me either. Too many people, too much stress. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
    Much Love.

  11. We may be forced to hibernate this winter. As it is our first here in Yucaipa we are learning it gets very cold. It was 46 degrees F at 8am, which may be very warm to some folks, but living in San Diego for so long, anything under 72 is COLD! My morning walk will have to come later in the day now.

No shopping here either, so not worth the sales dealing with all the crazy shoppers.

I do hope you all, including Lily have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
    blessings, jill

  24. like you, I'm, mostly, staying close to home and tending to me and mine. there's a fire in the wood stove, hot tea in the pot and shortbread; I could easily become a hermit.
    too easily.

  28. Howdy from Texas, Paula! Sounds like you had a perfect Thanksgiving - I did, too. A little busier with family coming in and out. This afternoon is the first time it's been quiet since Wednesday! I took a four-hour nap today - does that tell you anything?
:) I don't do Black Friday either - would rather have a tooth pulled...

Have a great week! Your place is so pretty...

  29. Me too, staying home, sewing, spinning, knowing my husband is near-by working on his projects or watching the football game. Nice, peaceful.

Your home is always picture-worthy, and cozy.Happy happy times, Christmas is coming and time to stay inside and sew to your hearts' content. Bet this is Lily's favorite time too because you stay put and she can peacefully sleep long hours !

  30. That is a fantastic photo of the corn stalks! Beautiful! I'm like you, I hate Black Friday...I hate crowds, and besides I'm just too tired to do ANYTHING the day after Thanksgiving! :-) Sorry I got so behind...am trying to do some catching up this morning.
