It's 8:00 a.m. and 20 degrees~ and a thick fog rolls in.
Strange icy formations start to appear.
Ice forms on everything.... even the fence.
The coating looks almost fuzzy.
Lily is unimpressed with the fuzzy fence.
She has done her business (which probably has ice on it, too) and now she is ready to go back inside.
Edie, who loves the cold weather, thinks foggy fence ice is delicious.
Daisy thinks it is delightful! :)

Mornin' Paula! The ice crystals really are gorgeous. I'm with Lily on whether or not to get involved with them though. I got my tongue stuck to frozen metal, briefly, when I was a kid so I veer away from it now. *snort*

what a way to drink water, just suck it off the fence. the fog is beautiful and the ice art is amazing... I would be with Lily, in and out really fast...

ReplyDeleteWe have had awful cold temps here in Northwest Wisconsin. I did brave it and took a few photos. We had -25 degree windchill, hard on the fingers to push the shutter button.

That type of frost is called hoar frost.
It is so pretty, even though it has to be so cold for it to form.
Winter certainly has it's beauty about it, and you've captured it perfectly!!

Your fog ice is prettier than ours. Well, I think it is because I didn't go out in it. Has there always been fog ice and I am only just hearing about it in this 47th year of my life? Those sweet sheep licking it up are super cute!
