It is April.....right?

Hmmm.... then why does Smokey have snow on his mouth?

Maybe it's because of a little thing we call Dogwood Winter. We had enough snow on our back porch this morning for Smokey to stick his nose into, but it soon melted away. However, it continues to fall and look very cold and dreary, so I have turned my attention to some inside projects.

My trusty sewing machine has been hopping today... some new items are headed to my ETSY shop soon! It's about time- I've neglected my little shop for way too long. And if that's not bad enough, my 100th post came and went and I didn't even notice! I don't really know what to do to make up for not celebrating this milestone, so either smack my hand or leave me a comment telling me what I need to do to make amends for this horrible oversight on my part.
(Please don't be too hard on me, I get migraines easily....)

  2. Hi Paula,
I was relieved to hear about Grandpa Munster-I mean Sarge-what would the other hens do without her?
We have a bit of snow too. Spring is hiding for a while.
    Who does Smokey look like??

  4. Oh, Paula, I could hardly fuss at you for overlooking your 100th post, when I let my ONE YEAR blogiversary come and go without notice (ducking my head in shame).

That little Smokey is quite the cutie. I wish we lived closer so maybe we could arrange a pooch play date with him and Pepper and Leyna. ;-)

I have my mom's embroider sewing machine. I've been staring at it for weeks, trying to get up the never to read the manual and figure out how to use it. I sew 'a little' for crafts, and easy patterns, but the machine embroidery part has be bumfuzzled.

  5. Congratulations on 100 posts!
I have not done anything spectacular with my new machine. I am embarassed. I have however, been busy with handwork.
I am ready for spring for sure.
    Have a great day, Hon.

  6. Congrats on the 100th milestone! I am going to have to check mine. I feel like I have posted over 100 :).

One thing you should do is post a link on your blog to your Etsy shop. I didn't know you had one and I would love to see what you are making and selling.

  8. That Smokey is a cutie! Our snow melted as it hit the ground but we were sent scrambling to cover the peach trees, blueberries, and peonies because of the heavy frost. I hope this is the last of frosty mornings.
Hey, stores have grand openings two months after they open. You can celebrate your "100" whenever your ready!
    Have a blessed Easter.

  10. Congratulations on your 100th post. I don't think I ever celebrated my one year and it's been at least 4 years since I started my blog. I'm sure I've passed my 100th post by now. How do you know? How do you check it? See? I've been doing a blog for 4 years and there is so much I still don't know.

  14. That is a VERY cool sewing machine! I want one!
Happy 100th post that has come and gone! It's definately something to celebrate, but isn't that an optional thing??? LOL! Well, there's still blogoversaries!

So, I went to the link you had for the "Dogwood winter" and I'm wondering does it hurt the dogwood blossoms when it snows? I guess it doesn't frostbite them because it has to be warm enough to snow, but I'm just wondering. I grew up where there was snow, but no dogwoods. I remember a horrible blizzard that happened once in MAY!!!!! UGH!

  16. Congrats on your 100th post. The only thing you have to do to make up for missing it is to keep posting. I love seeing your farm and your animals and hearing what you have been up to.
We have had crummy weather here in Utah too. We had a couple of nice days then back to rain and cold and snow.
Hope you have a Happy Easter.

  21. Hi Paula,
I WISH we could get a little snow. But it's too late to dream about that here in San Antonio,TX. We hit 95 degrees yesterday...

I can't wait to see what you'll be putting in your store. Like they used to say in the commercials: Open, open, open.

Regarding your 100th post. Why don't you celebrate your 110th post (or where ever you're at now). You can step out of the box and be original! We all enjoy celebrations no matter what. So let's party!!!

    Patricia :o)
PS Congratulations on your 100th post.

  27. You are too cute!

I got my sewing machine back from the shop a few weeks ago. Now the thread's not picking up the bobbin thread like it should. I've got to do some troubleshooting.

  29. I didn't notice my 100 blog post either, come to think of it I might have missed the 1 year anniversary too. I am not good with dates and all that. The weather has been weird here in Kansas this spring too. Pretty cool for this time of year and a late snow. I am so ready for some warm weather!
