Oh, I love all your pictures, Paula! Are those snap bean I see? I bought some at a farm's market and I'll be "attempting" to cook them tonight for the first time...wish me luck! :)
OOOOOoooo I STILL want to come and visit you. It looks so WONDERFUL around the farm! Your sheep with the fan (we put a fan on the porch for our outside kitty) catching a breeze, and the mason jar with the tea. Is there any other way to drink tea???? I just think it tastes better from a jar....lol. I also love the linens hung on the line and the berries. Well, can I just say I LOVE everything you have shown in these beautiful pictures!!! Hope you have a great week!♥
Well now I'm laughing....I loved the photos but I loved the last one especially because (in my mind) it was silkworm cocoons that were being dyed for doing spinning of silk yarns. I was about to comment on how cool that was, and then I read other comments and realized it was ice cubes in tea. Good thing I can laugh at myself!
I poured Mr. C some tea in a mason jar for the first time a couple months ago and he was like "Why'd you pour it in this?" and now he always gets a mason jar for his tea!!
only difference here is my dh wants his tea in a quart jar! seriously, Daisy and Edie are ~sheep~. Priscilla and Elvis are ~goats~. City folk........ it does look like a fabulous summer in your neck of the woods. we sure are lovin' it here. i will be canning green beans later this week. do you plant blue lake or contender or just what? and do all you southerners call them snap beans? if not, what is th edifference in green and snap? i can my green beans very young and whole. larger beans get 'snapped'. and i never break off tails just the stem end. how about you? blackberries? we did make 2 quarts of black raspberry syrup and i froze 4 pints for winter cobblers. mike says when elderberries are ripe, he is gonna try to beat the birds to them this year. we bought 6 dozen more jars so i will be canning something soon. i'm not sure where i will store all these jars but mike is adamant that we have PLENTY OF FOOD. i guess being unemployed has more of an effect on him than it seems. truth is--he isn't looking for a job yet. he wants to get all the unemployment coming to him and i am loving having him home......
These pictures are so relaxing and beautiful. They take me to a place I've never lived...the simple life. I'm sure it's not easy to keep such a gorgeous farm, but the joy of it leaves me wanting it. Patricia :o)
The pictures are great and speak volumes of what kind of summer I long for. City summers are not cutting it anymore! I sure miss the country but the little garden helps. Love the canning picture. We are off to pick blueberries this coming weekend. I am so excited about going! Fresh berries! Being a GRIT no day is complete without sweetened iced tea!
