How I spent my weekend... Part II

I hope everybody had a terrific holiday weekend... mine was great but very busy. I haven't been on the computer since Friday, so I have a lot of catching up to do! I can't wait to visit everybody and see what you've been up to the past few days, so I'll keep this post short and sweet.
These are just a few highlights of my weekend....

Cleaned out Daisy and Edie's stall. (Please disregard the objects in the bottom right corner... those appeared AFTER I cleaned.)

Got Daisy and Edie some fresh hay.

Made some homemade ice cream. (Mmmmm.)

Spent some time with our families. This is my Daddy on his little tractor he just restored. (He looks a little proud of it, don't he?)

Worked on the "pout house".

WAIT A MINUTE... YOU WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO SEE IT YET!! RATS!!

There. That's better. (tee hee)

  1. Hi Paula, you had a busy weekend! I love your dad's tractor, too. As for what's over in the corner,
barn chores are just never done, are they?

I'm still waiting on my babies to hatch--maybe by weeks end!

  2. Hey, I just wandered over from somewhere else, who knows where, I am a fellow blogger from Western North Carolina, we can't be too far from each other.
    Thanks for the sneak peek!

  3. Too late, I saw it! It looks very cute. Your daddy does indeed look proud of his tractor. I knew a fella around here who collected antique tractors. He had quite a few of them. It's nice to see them being restored and cared for like that.

The tractor is so awesome! I love old tractors and old pickups. Tell your daddy that he did a great job.

  7. Good Morning Paula,
Your daddy did a great job on that tractor! He should be proud of it.

  8. You got a lot done this weekend!
What kind of ice cream did you have? I LOVE homemade ice cream....threw out the diet this weekend and made Milky Way ice cream.
What a great picture of your Dad...it brought back a lot of wonderful memories. I have some pics of my Dad on his old yellow tractor; he was happiest here on the farm on that old tractor.
Hope you have a great week-
    Hugs,
    Pam

  9. Glad to hear you had a good weekend. I did too, and the weather here was wonderful! Don't worry about those "objects" that appeared in the picture with Daisy and Eddie. We all understand that "stuff" happens all the time! ;) mare

  10. I love the "ignore the objects in the right corner." I've never thought of poo as 'objects'. Now I'll tell Mr. C to watch out for "Chicken objects" on the ground. hee hee.

And the tractor looks great- no wonder your dad is proud of it!!!

  11. Paula,

My dad would LOVE the tractor! Your dad reminds me of my dad sitting there on his tractor.

Now I want some homemade ice cream. My favorite is butterfinger! What kind did you make?

Thanks for the peek at your project!

    Have a great day!

  17. Looks like we did about the same thing-stay home and work around the home place....Now, I know you will be surprised, but I got a preview of your new getaway home-the pout house. Here in Iowa, it's usually the hunny that goes out to another building and it is the DOG house...Yours looks kind of fancy. Maybe, a guest house for long term guests?
One of my pet peeves is people that let things fall to ruin. There are so many rusty tractors and falling down barns around here. It's good to see your Dad has restored such a beauty. He looks like a very happy man and rightly so! I'm proud of and for him!

  27. Hi, Paula ~ I tripped upon your site along my journey through Blogville, and being an ole country farmgirl myself, I giggled and smiled and and got warm fuzzies in my heart reading your blog. Love dad's tractor, love the critters, and especially LOVE the pout house ~ I wore a dent in the wood in my permanent seat at our pout house! For real! I'd love for you to drop by and visit the Pond Creek Homestead sometime, and my backyard birds (there's a link near the top of my blog that will take you there). I'll be back! Happy Day ~ Bee
