The last few nights have been downright chilly here, with temperatures dipping down into the 40's. I've still been bringing Belle, Beau, and Cecil in at night until all their Silky feathers come in. It's so funny to see them in the morning looking back at you like, "well, are we going OUT or are we staying IN today?"
By the way, I'll be participating in Tour Tuesday tomorrow, so you'll get to see around my home! (I'd better start cleaning up the house now...) Heather at Simple Family Supper Lady invited me last week, but I couldn't get any decent pictures, so I'll be showing you around tomorrow. Be sure and stop by for a visit!
Lea at Farmhouse Blessings is having a great contest and give-a-way... she wants you to name her new Scarecrow...
And the winner will get this cute little prim bunny handmade by her!!
(Of course I am going to win this time, but you can enter anyway. LOL)
Good luck, everybody!
I love the smell of honeysuckle too. Do you have Jasmine there? I love to smell it also.
ReplyDeleteThe chicks are looking great.
That scarecrow looks better than a picture Billy took of me this weekend after we worked all day outside. Haha
Can't wait to tour on tuesday with you. Have a good day.
I love the honeysuckle, too...we have it growing in the backyard and by the mailbox...I love that smell. I discovered some blackberry vines growing close to the honeysuckle this morning; didn't realize we had any growing that close to the house!!
ReplyDeleteThe chicks are so cute. I look forward to raising chickens some day. I've been trying to talk my husband into it....
Looking forward to the home tour...
Have a wonderful Monday,
Pam
I am looking forward to the home tour too.....and yes, its been in the low 100s here, it was 105 yesterday on our patio...supposed to be the last day for this, I sure hope so!
ReplyDeleteSeems like the fragrance has been sweeter this year-I wonder if the plants are making up for the dry spell last year or maybe I'm just noticing more.
ReplyDeleteWe love the honeysuckle, too--have the vine growing up an old maple on the east side of the house and a huge shrub out on the west side of the garage. I can't believe how fast and beautiful this stuff is. Our vine blooms all summer long. The shrub- just massively about now.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see more of your home. I would love to be able to have you over for brunch or coffee or dinner. It would be like a reunion--we would have soooo much to talk about!
Have a great day and week.....
First off, I love your wonderful front porch, oh how I want to sit there with you and drink coffee in the morning!
ReplyDeleteYou reminded me to plant honeysuckle here on our hammock holder! I have been wondering which vine to plant and this one is perfect, smells divine and grows here like a weed! THANKS!!!!
Have a beautiful day today!
XXOO,
Donna Lynn
I also love honeysuckle and due to the cooler than normal weather it is still very fragrant here in N. FL.
ReplyDeleteAh, honeysuckle. The sweet scent always takes me back to my childhood, where it grew around us in such abundance you could get heady from the aroma. I miss it. :-)
ReplyDeleteOne thing I'm good at growing --- honeysuckle!!!!! My fence is covered with it, and here in Florida, it stays green year round!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your home!!! (Aren't we all the nosey bunch, peeking in your windows????)
Please come over to my blog for my giveaway! Ya gotta sign up!
Cora
I tried twice to post - something on blogger doesn't like me today - anyhow - I do believe the smell of honeysuckle is one of those blessings we get to remind us how we are loved. I plant my honeysuckle a ways from the house - the bees like it far too much! Looking forward to the Tuesday tour!
ReplyDeleteI can smell the honeysuckle just looking at your great pic!
ReplyDeleteSeeing your little chics grow makes me even more anxious to see my own little ones!!
Hi Paula! Honeysuckle does smell heavenly! Still, it is a love/dislike very much relationship for me--it just takes over everything!! Your little Silkies are adorable! I think my little black hen has finally settled down (third times the charm) and is going to hatch out a few cuties for us! I'll keep you posted.

Hi, I love the smell of honeysuckle. I hope you win on the naming of the scarecrow! blessings, Kathleen
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous honeysuckles! You have such a great place!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sharon
Love Honeysuckle also:) We have candles of that fragrance all over the house. I remember pulling the stem out of them when I was a little kid and sucking the juice out of them. We didn't miss a one! Can't wait to see the tour tomorrow. Have a good night

Hi Paula! Thanks for coming by. I just love the smell of honeysuckle and jasmine. I will need to plant them again. Hubby killed the ones I had. Not on purpose of course, so he says.
ReplyDeleteThe chicks are looking great.
Will come back tomorrow for your tour.
Irma :)
Wow haven`t the babies grown, they are so cute!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your tour

Hi -- Stopped by for the first time and have to comment. (Apparently I'm not too shy.) I love the cute chicks! The honeysuckle you picture is not the same as here . . . in the Midwest. I'm guessing you're in the south? (The sweet tea is another clue.)
ReplyDeleteWill be back. Ciao!
Pam, everywhere we go around here, we run into honeysuckled "pockets" of air. It's almost like you're dreaming, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteDo you know if honeysuckled can be transplanted or rooted? We have it all over our property but none near the house. I sure would like to bring that fragrance to our garden.
Thanks for posting my contest. It has been so fun to read the creative names everyone has come up.
Smiles,
Lea
I love honeysuckle too. My grandmother had a large one in your east yard and it is still there today, under the care of my cousin who is now living in what used to be my grandparents' house. And, *joy of joys*, I found a lovely pink honeysuckle growing next to a white one out in the windbreak. How they got there is anyone's guess. We certainly didn't plant them there. I pruned them up last week and plan to let them continue growing on their own. The smell is heavenly!
ReplyDeleteHi Paula...
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about HoneySuckle... it evokes so many wonderful childhood memories for me. We have a bunch of it near our front porch and when the breeze is just right... pure Heaven!
Cute lil silkies, too!
