Sit a spell....

The last two days have been very rainy and downright nasty... I wanted to post some pictures of our garden, but the weather hasn't been kind enough to get any decent pictures. I was also invited by Heather at Simple Family Supper Lady to do a Tour Tuesday - to take some pictures around my home to share, but it's hard to get good, clear pictures indoors when it's so dark and gloomy. Maybe this weekend the sun will be bright and beautiful, and I can take some pictures so next week you can get a look around my home.
Since I didn't have any of the pictures I had planned on having today, I posted this picture of my favorite place- my front porch. Sometimes I wish I could chat for a few minutes out here in the rocking chairs with each one of you ! I'll bet we would have a lot to talk about; share some laughs and some tears as well.... I have a feeling we would have a ball!

  2. Great porch, I hope to have one like that some day. Just read your posts about the garden. I do plan on doing some preserving. Last year was a first in years only preserving a few things, this year I plan to do a lot more.

  12. You bet we would have a ball. We would be hollering, laughing, and carrying on while we sip our iced tea rocking in those big rocking chairs looking out across the fields.
I love your porch. It looks like home.
    Have a good weekend.
( I hope this doesn't show up twice, does any body else have blogger comment trouble besides me??)

  13. Sitting on the porch drinking tea and sharing our stories - sounds wonderful. You know I think sitting in rocking chairs really helped people's backs - my grands did better staying active than most folks now and everyone had wooden rockers. Hmmm - might be a new health kick Paula?!

  14. This is my first visit to your lovely blog. I will add you to my blogs to read :o) I too love sitting on the porch. I sit there of a morning with my mom sipping coffee. When I was a little girl I would sit on my grandmother's porch and rock with her. She would hum Amazing Grace. I also loved helping her hang the laundry :o) I miss those days.
Hope you have a great weekend!!

  19. Hi Paula! Came to you via Cora's blog. I am so envious of your front porch. So inviting. I especially loved reading about your recent experience with your broody hen. We have 16 hens and 1 rooster. I enjoy watching them so much. We had a late frost here too and came close to losing our garden but thankfully I woke up and put the sprinklers on and only a few plants got just a touch of frostbite. Wish we could get some of your rain. Hot, dry and dusty here in sunny, rainless FL. I'll be back often to enjoy your posts.

  23. Hi Paula... Your rockers and front porch sure do look inviting... so peaceful ~smile~

I want to thank you for visiting my blog... and for your amazingly kind words for me. How gracious of you... very nice. I am so thankful for your prayers, too. But I was sad to learn of your Mom's suffering and of her passing away. Similar to how things were with my Mom and how I cared for her up to her death.

I have marked your blog so I can return and read all of your posts! Please come back, anytime, Paula and bring your friends. I hope you're having a wonderful weekend.
    God bless.

    ~hugs~
