39 years ago today....

I hatched out!!

Yep, Farm Chick Paula is one year older today- it will take a pretty big cake to hold all those candles! (Did someone say...cake?!) *sigh*.... Many more candles than the 2 in this picture...

I've had a terrific birthday.... I even treated myself to a couple of little treasures-

My dear friend Debra at Sparrowgrass had this little pinkeep in her ETSY shop and I just couldn't resist it..

The little pinkeep pillow comes off, and inside the coffee can is a little secret compartment for all my little small sewing items!! (*squeal*)

(By the way, Debra- thanks for my birthday post- you are such a sweetheart!)

I also stocked up my sewing box with some beautiful colors of Gütermann thread-

Hubby REALLY surprised me with something I had been wanting for a long time... Corinthian Bell wind chimes!! If you've never heard of these, they sound alot like church bells and they have the most beautiful tone. Click on this to hear them-

But the very best part- Hubby took the day off and we went for a drive to the Smoky mountains... and the leaves are almost in full color!

Thanks for the wonderful road trip, sweetie!!

  17. Just another thing we have in common--wind chimes. I am passionate about them... I love your pin kkep. The nostagic coffee can is a 'keeper'. Where do you get the thread like that and is it cheaper than say---WalMart? Are you going to be sewing alot? I am almost done with this cross-stitched crib quilt. I will be backing, trimming and tying it...Time to get onto Christmas stuff. Do you do red ware or whatever they call it when the whole image is embroidered in red? I never have but I see Lea is making a quilt of red embroidered squares. Just curious....
I know you had a wonderful birthday. Hope all your tomorrows are as wonderful! :)
    Love you, friend---Linda

  47. Hi Paula and Happy Birthday to ya.
I have those wind chimes also ,but I never knew the name of them. My cousin brought them to me this summer as they werew her mothers and she had no place to keepo them. I wasn't sure if I woukld liuke them or not because I'm not typicallky a wind chime person. The little clangey rattelt ones make me want to scream they get on my nerves so bad. I took them on a trial basis and oh my godness, the first time we heard them we actually shut the tv down so we could hear them better. It takes a pretty good puff of wind to even get themn to move and describing them as most like church bells is excately right. You can see a picture of mine hanging on the front [porch on my blog header. I love them and I'm so happy you have them too. Yur hubby is a sweetie.

  49. Oh! Miss Paula!
    Happy, Happy Birthday!
It looks as though you had a wonderful day -- what a sweet husband to take you on a drive (I just love rides in the country!) And those windchimes......
I'm not even going to listen. Church bells are one of the most lovely sounds, ever, and if your chimes sound like them -- then I'm going to want them....
    Many Blessings,
    Julie
P.S. You were a beautiful baby!
