Lookin' for spring

After a gorgeous weekend with sunny skies and temperatures in the 60's, it's back to the 30's (and below) with another chance of snow tonight.
It's definitely been a long winter.
Even the animals are on the lookout for spring.

"Do you see anything?"

"No... maybe it went that way..."

"Wait- I think I see something!"

"Harrrumph... false alarm."
(Walks away in disgust.)

"Don't even think about looking for spring in here!"

Smokey thinks he might have caught of whiff of spring...
(notice his "snow socks"...)

No, Smokey- that's just your doggie breath.
Hope some of you are starting to see Spring at your place!

  2. Great post. Those bantam hens look like mine, but mine are mutt birds. That silkie sure didn't see spring. I often wonder how they can see anything at all! My poor blue rooster....and my splash hen lost an eye as a chick. Poor Smokey. We all are ready for Spring. Please hurry!

  6. No spring here either. But I'm trying to something in the house with either silk flowers or maybe a springy quilt table topper. I gotta do something. OH, I'm planing my herb garden inside today. YOu'll laugh, I put my garden hat beside the tray where I have my little seedlings just to cheer me on. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!
    Cute, Cute, Cute pictures.

  8. Doesn't look like we're getting any spring here for a while either. Snow forecast for tonight, tomorrow and possibly next week :( Last weekend was wonderful, but Mother Nature was just teasing us!

  9. Oh, Sweetie, there is still so much snow around here, we may never see the ground again.....and when we do, there will be MUD and high water. They say we've had 3 feet of snow this winter. All I know for sure is it's still here and it's still cold.......We may have to buy more LP before it's over. We've never had to buy a second tank of gas!
You have some green there. I say enjoy it for all of us that have been foresaken!

  10. Very cute! Spring will come. We were spoiled with a few days of sunshine and the blooming of daffodils, now....back to gray skies and rain. Anticipation.....

  23. Oh Paula, I wish I could send you some of our spring weather! It's been in the mid 60's this week. Of course, it's only Feb., so I know we have more cold weather in store for us, but we don't get your kind of cold. I loved the pictures of all of your sweet farm animals!
    Blessings,

  25. Miss Paula,
You're so funny! The pictures you chose were just perfect!

The weatherman said rain/snow showers for tomorrow - but he said that for Tuesday, too. Guess what? We got nothing. Just too cold to do anything, that's all...

Thanks for the offer of advice - I sure need it! Are you sure we don't need to wring any chicken necks? Maybe just one? LOL We've got a he/she conundrum over here. ??? The cat food is helping their tempers, somewhat, but I think they're so cold - they don't want to fight as much? They're still under a tight watch, though.
    Those Aracaunas are a mess!

Hope that you'll see spring, soon!
    Many Blessings,
    Julie

  29. My dear, that was a great post, I begin to wonder if this is one of those old fashoined winters that will last up to June... LOL

We are getting dumped on again and expecting 30 MPH winds to boot. I'm so dreaming of seeing my little flowers poke their heads above the ground.

    Please bring Spring,
    Blessings, Mel

  30. Nothing SPRINGING UP over here! More snow predictions yet, and I'm still having to gather eggs several times a day to avoid EXPLOSIVE ones!
