Visitors to my window...

Mr. Cardinal enjoys his breakfast.

Mrs. Cardinal peeps out from the other feeder.

Mr. Flicker is nicely camouflaged, except for the rather large bright red spot on the back of his head...

Mr. Finch enjoys the sunshine.

Meanwhile,
Mrs. Finch is talking to Mr. Finch with her mouth full.

Shy Mr. Red Belly is very hard to photograph.
You have to be quick the way he scoots up the pole to the suet cake!

Then there are the regulars, who clean up what everyone else drops...

Whitey and Ruthie make sure nothing goes to waste!
(I just wish they would stop leaving their waste on the driveway... *sigh*)

Happy Wednesday, everybody!

  9. Great bird pics. You do get close. don't you? I don't recall the flicker but surely they must be around here. I love the Mrs. Cardinal. Her feathers are done so nicely. It's funny. The birds no longer visit our suet--too many bugs--but the hummers aren't back yet. Unusual for here. Lots of rain, lots of green and blooms everywhere. I love spring! And I love you! Say hey to James! ★ Linda

  18. I love watching the birds and we have several of them.
We have a Mr Flicker that beats on our vent every morning now that the weather is warm. I thought it was the woodpecker that we have around.
He beats every AM at 7, we call him our alarm clock.:)

  25. Beautiful photos and birds! I have some feeders along our back fence, but around here we mostly get sparrows and robins, and a few mourning doves. I wish we had more colorful birds, but I enjoy feeding the ones we have.

  26. I know it is supposed to be spring but we live at 7000 ft and we just got hit with a big snow storm a few days ago so our birds aren't really out much yet, I need to go get some seed to bring them back. I have seen a few bluejays and a robin so It is time. I am getting about 7 eggs a day from my 11 hens. The feed stor had a bunch of chicks but Im worried about putting new chickens in with an established flock, will they kill them? I don't know. It is spring though. ;o) We are getting 3 lambs for 4-H in a few weeks. Hope this will be fun..I'v never had lambs before. Happy Spring!

  29. We don't have cardinals here, Mrs Cardinal looks like a muppet or something! The norther flicker is one of my favorite birds, we have one that likes to sit and drum on the metal roof. I loved all your pics!

  32. Lovely photos and I love feeding the birds, so bright and cheerful. The cats love watching them from the safety of the sun room windows and the dogs play chase but have never caught one. Thankfully!

  34. A good camera got the shots!! At least you had it on and ready when the birds lighted! I've never seen a cardinal in real life. Just pictures. They are so amazing!
We had a new episode in the hen house! A hawk came in and helped himself to a few hens and our rooster. Never before has this happened in eighteen years. There is a new hen house in the planning stage!
    Free chickens are so happy!
