The annual spring Plow on the Mountain in Crossville, TN this past Saturday looked like it might turn into "Bathtime on the Mountain" according to the weather forecasts, but the heavy rains that were coming down in West and Middle Tennessee held off until around lunch and everything went on as scheduled. Once the plowing was finished, Hubby and I loaded up the Farmall and the plow and headed home in a drizzle of rain and by the time we stopped for lunch the drizzle had turned into a downpour- but Hubby had a wonderful time and was happy to see some of his antique tractor buddies again.
Here are some pictures from the day....
What NEAT pictures! I'm glad the rain held off so the plowing could get finished. LOVE it!

ReplyDeleteVery nice pictures! It's great to have a yearly tradition like that to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby got a big smile out of these pictures - neat to see folks having fun with implements meant for hard work. Also glad you don't live in the lowlands - so sorry to hear about the flooding.
ReplyDeleteLooks like that was a lot of fun. We used to have a farmal tractor just like yours. Sometimes hubbie would be working in the hay fields and people would stop and ask if he would sell it. He finally did sell it to a man who collected farmal tractors
ReplyDeleteHey Paula,
ReplyDeleteYou know I love that FarmAll!
All the pictures are so good. I will have to show my husband when he gets in. He loves to plow.
I sure would like to see the spring Plow on the Mountain. We may just have to head up that way next year.
Have a great day.
Pam
I love it when you show pictures from this event, Paula! Looks like it was beautiful for the event--I'm so glad the rain held off for you!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, look at all those handsome mules, in their beautiful harnesses, and all those tractors.
ReplyDeleteI love Farmall's, reminds me of Granddad's and riding on the inside fender while he was plowing, or haying.
Thanks for sharing these cool pics...
Blessings,
Mel
Really cool pictures! Looks like they had a lot of fun! That last picture looks like olden times!
ReplyDeleteLove these pictures! I wanna live in the country, I wanna wake to see fields, smell the newly plowed earth. Sigh! Maybe someday.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness what lovely pictures of the tractors and plowing teams. I remember when I lived on the dairy farm how the farmer came and plowed up 1/2 an acre for a garden beside the house for us. I was so fasinated then and that has never died! I do miss the farm life. Thanks for giving us little slices of heaven!
ReplyDeleteHi Paula,
ReplyDeleteI wanted to get in touch and make sure y'all were ok since hearing about the awful flooding in TN, and I was not sure exactly where you are located. I hope all is well. I am thinking about you, even though I have been a horrible blog friend!! Hopefully I can get back to it and catch up with everyone soon.
Take care, Tracey

Hi there!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sweet comments :)
I LOVE pears... but I would happily share with ya!
Have you ever had dried pears? Yummy!! They are better than candy and that includes chocolate!!!
Do you just love Tennessee?? That is one of the states that we are considering moving to. Don't know anything about it though. I'm trying to study things on the internet....but it's like looking for a needle in a hay stack! Sure looks gorgeous though :)
