This is the building where the reception was held.... isn't it beautiful?
Down the hill from the reception hall is where the ceremony would take place....
Here come the guys.....
The parents, grandparents, and bridesmaids were brought down the hill by carriage.
My brother walking my sister-in-law to her seat...
The bride and her Dad also arrived in a beautiful carriage......
As soon as Shelby and her Dad started their walk down the aisle, the sun came out from behind the clouds.
Mr. and Mrs. Nick Young!
And for a moment, I couldn't help a couple of tears that fell....
One for all the years that have flown by so quickly since Nick was a little boy, and one for my Mother who didn't get to see her beloved grandson get married....
*Sigh*
Then it was back up the hill for the reception.....
Late into the night everyone ate lots of delicious barbecue and laughed and danced and had such a wonderful time...
Beautiful festive candles burned everywhere and a fire outside for the children to make s'mores made the evening complete.
Congratulations, Nick and Shelby- may God bless you with many wonderful years together!

And now- for the winner of my fabric pumpkin......
I assigned every comment a number in the order they were left on the last post, then used a random number generator from CalculatorPro.com to pick for me:

ReplyDeleteOh Paula, your pictures are stunning! Such a beautiful wedding.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Dawn!
Well, thanks for the tears again cuz. I shed a few tears myself thinking of Aunt Shirley and how I wished she could have seen Nick get married. But when the sun came out as Shelby began walking down the isle my thoughts were "there's Aunt Shirley shining down her blessings." And I agree with Carmen... "I truly believe your mom had the best seat in the house." I love that thought. On Friday night I sat beside your dad because you know he is one of my most favorite people in the world and as they started the slide show and he saw pictures of Shirley he turned to me and said "nobody knows how much I miss that woman." Of course I began to cry like a baby and thought, please don't do this to me. Slide after slide he just shook his head as he reflected back over the years. It was nice to share that moment with him. The wedding was beautiful and made me wish I had done my wedding the way I wanted to. When Greg and I renew our vows in a couple of years, everyone is flying to the beach. "YES"!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful wedding and photos...you always take such wonderful pictures...makes me feel I was there....thanks, Paula

ReplyDeleteWow , this even made me cry, such a beautiful wedding. We have a place like that near where I live that's called Millrace Farms and the ladies that own it do the weddings. ReplyDeleteBeautiful wedding and so glad I am catching up on the blogs today! I love your posts and it just makes my day!
ReplyDeleteThese photos somehow bring the life back into my dreams back when I was little. Because I practically grew up in a place that doesn't have any of these wide open green landscapes and quiet roads, I just can't help but crave for that one day my playmates and I would be allowed to play in one of these.
