Hi, I'm back to have another look at those cute bees. I'm thinkin' they're 3-band Italian. We kept some of those and buckfast years ago. Have a great evening.
I bet the hummers cant get to the feeder~ Scary. I read somewhere that the yellow flower in the feeder is what lures the bees. I purchased 2 feeders with no yellow on it at all and no bees! So there must be something to it.
This is definitely that time of the year...the bees are stocking up on sugar anywhere they find it. The honeybees around here are all abuzz over the chicken feed too.( can't figure that one out though )
Oh yes near the ned of the season we got that too ! Our hummies have all frown from New ENgland so brought the hummie feeders in and set the wild bird feeders back out. I will miss the Hummingbirds until Spring, but do love seeing the wild birds at our feeders now. Great shots by he way !
don't mind honey bees but don't like yellow jackets, bumbles, etc. why is it honey bees sting and die while the others sting and sting and sting and...at least a honey bee gives honey.

That's quite the swarm! We often have trouble with wasps/yellow-jackets in fall, but this year there seemed to be almost none.

Whoa.. next summer when we hang our feeders out, I will not complain about a few pesky yellow jackets. Guess they need food too :)
